If you are a mom, you will understand that there isn't much "me" time when your kid naps if they nap under an hour. I watch the monitor for a few minutes after I put her down because when she finally rolls over onto her side, with thumb in mouth and woobies in hand I know the countdown has begun. I then try and clean up breakfast, or lunch, start the dishwasher, flip over the laundry, straighten up the playroom so that there aren't toys all over the place for my dog to gnaw on, and eventually try and eat something myself. At this point I have about 15 minutes left of free time...I usually sit down at my computer, with lunch next to my keyboard, and follow up on a few emails and prepare to blog.
Oh wait...I need to check Pinterest for 900 more white kitchen photos.
And I have to check Radar Online to see what the Housewives are fighting about now.
Have to set up those doctor's appointments that I have been putting off...
Now I can start a blog post...and not finish it because guess who is up!
I have about 10 different blog posts that I would love to write for you all brewing in my head at one different time. I have a great one, that I have even started hand writing in my notebook, about if I had to cast Disney cartoons for a live actor film version (Nathan Fillion as Eugene Fitzherbert!) but who knows if I will ever get around to writing it.
I feel like I have been living in my car lately too. M's new school is about 15 minutes away, and after waiting in the car drop off line, and then driving home in rush hour traffic I am not home until around 9 AM. And this does not bode well for Val's nap schedule, as she is usually down for her morning nap at 8:15, which is when we are mid-drop off. If she falls asleep in the car, forget that morning nap! Neither of my kids have ever been good at the transition after falling asleep in the car.
Then we run errands in the morning, come home for a quick lunch and another nap, and it is back in the car to go get M at school....
...oh look at that, Val is awake!
...yeah so I started this post 5 hours ago and I am just now getting a second to sit down to finish.
What is my point? I am not blogging as much as I would like. I wish I had more free time to devote to writing everything I want to write. Right now the kids are both in bed - M isn't asleep yet but should be soon - and all I want to do is curl up on the couch with a glass of wine.
So that is what I am going to do.
Good night all!
