A Technological Rebirth

I write to you from my brand new iMac...I wasn't expecting to make such a big purchase today, but after two trips to the Apple store with my 2007 iMac, I learned that my hard drive was corrupted and I had lost everything on it.

Aiden doing is best to help by CTRL+ALT+DEL.
If only that worked on Macs!

"When is the last time you backed up?" the "genius" asked me at the store. I immediately thought of that Sex and the City episode where Carrie's computer crashes and she carries it wrapped in a pashmina  (with Aiden in tow) to a computer repair place. It is there she learned that she lost everything she had written...ever.

Luckily for me everything I have written is stored somewhere in cyberspace, but I did lose a lot of important documents, all of the graphics I have created for the blog, contact info, last month's photos
(the only thing I ever back up is photos so that is good) and some other irreplaceable things. I got over the loss pretty quickly when I learned that my computer was so old it made no sense to fix it, so I was better off getting a new one.

So here I sit, at my shiny new desktop, writing the first of many posts on my tiny little keyboard.

My words of wisdom to you all today: BACK UP YOUR COMPUTERS. Whether you do it with an external hard drive, or an online site, just back your stuff up (including your ass :)!!
